Messy Play

Messy (or Sensory) Play, or sensory play, is play during which children of all abilities and ages. With materials necessary to all the senses. With their natural curiosity and drive, they freely explore and experiment in a safe environment. In their own way and in their own time, and guided by themselves alone. This kind of play is of course nothing new, we as adults did not discover it. Moreover, it is the natural way of playing for children, who have always wanted to play with all their senses. So many other materials of nature were generously available around them like soil, mud, clay etc. It is precise because all the senses are functioning that the child’s brain receives sensory stimuli that are essential for its complete development.
