Catamaran An attractive project using various forms of plastic. The use of a motor and a propeller as a drive system makes this model even more interesting. The 2 floats are made of a soft, easy to work foam called styrodur (a material similar to styrofoam) joined to a plywood deck. The graphic design is left up to each student. The fins and seat, battery holder are formed from 2mm Polystyrol. Power for the catamaran is supplied by a DC motor and propellor
